On a Friday night I tend to make a homemade version of a takeaway meal. I know the whole reason of getting takeaway is to have a night off from cooking, but making your own homemade versions are cheaper, sometimes quicker and usually better for you. Plus you can custom make your meal to suit you without having to pay for extras.
Last week we experimented with Gourmet Hotdogs. I opted for normal beef sausages over the red skinned processed sausage you find in a traditional hotdog but stuck to the classic white bun.
These Gourmet Hotdogs were a lot of fun to make and eat, I’m already thinking about what different toppings I can use next time.
Here are the details for the version I made.
INGREDIENTS
Honey Beef Sausages – cooked on the BBQ
White Hotdog buns
Store bought Coleslaw
Grated Cheese
Chilli Mayonnaise
Cooked onions, bacon and mushrooms
