Homemade Garlic Bread

Homemade Garlic Bread

Garlic Bread completes some meals don’t you think? It’s a great Italian starter, a perfect dipping vessel for soups and casseroles and well it is just all kinds of comfort food. Now the Garlic Bread you buy premade in the supermarkets usually comes out dripping in butter as they try to get some flavour into it.  My Homemade Garlic Bread only requires a single spread of the herb and garlic butter I am going to show you how to make.  It comes out full of flavour not full of dripping butter.

INGREDIENTS

100gm Butter, softened
2 Cloves Garlic, chopped finely
1 Tbs Parsley, chopped finely
Salt
Bread rolls, bread (bread that is a few days old works well)

LETS PUT IT ALL TOGETHER

1. In a medium bowl place the softened butter (if is still hard simply grate the butter into the bowl), garlic, parsley and a sprinkling of salt.  Mix well until it is all evenly mixed through.

2. Spread a layer of the herb and garlic butter onto your chosen bread and either bake at 200 degree celcius or place under the grill for 5-10 minutes or until it just starts to turn golden brown.

With the leftover herb and garlic butter, simply place onto cling wrap and roll into a roll winding each end.  I then placed this into a zip lock bag and placed in the freezer for next time.  When I am ready to use it again I will simply cut slices off (once softened).
