I had the pleasure of trying these simple yet tasty Cheesey Noodle Spiders at the Dairy Australia – Legendairy event I attended in Brisbane.
Such simple ingredients create a perfect afternoon tea snack, or lunch box filler.
With only two ingredients and easy enough for older children to make themselves, you will be adding these to your rotation of family favourites in no time.
INGREDIENTS
1 x 72g packet 2 minute noodles, cooked without flavouring
3/4 cup grated Australian reduced fat cheddar cheese
LETS PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
1. Use kitchen scissors to roughly snip noodles into short lengths, toss with cheese and divide into 10 piles on a baking paper lined tray.
2. Bake at 200°C for 10 minutes or until crisp and golden. Cool on tray for 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Serve warm or cool.
TIPS
Cheesey Noodle Spiders are a great afterschool snack or the perfect accompaniment to a bowl of warm soup. These spiders are best served on the day they are made but will keep in an airtight container in a cool dry place for a day. Refresh for 3-5 minutes in a warm oven before serving if desired. Try adding the following flavour variations for these noodle spiders: Chopped spring onion and coriander Freshly snipped chives Curry powder and chopped spring onion.
