Last month I reviewed Fangks the new healthy alternative milk mix. Fangks contains 7 vitamins and minerals and is also free from refined sugars. Sweetened with Natvia – a natural sweetener made from a stevia blend that doesn’t have a bitter aftertaste.
This time I have put it through its paces to create three amazing refined sugar free recipes for you. I’m going to show you how easy it is to substitute your normal chocolate milk mix and sugar with the versatile Chocolate Fangks. This one little canister holds the key to many recipes that will see you reduce your use of unnatural sugars in your breakfasts, drinks and baking.
I was able to create Healthy Chocolate Breakfast Porridge, Healthy Frothy Hot Chocolate and Refined Sugar Free Chocolate and Coconut Slice.
Find out how easy it was.
1. Healthy Chocolate Breakfast Porridge
Cook the quick oats according to the directions on the packet. Before placing on the stove or the microwave add 1 tablespoon of Chocolate Fangks and mix through. Once it is cooked you will have Healthy Chocolate Breakfast Porridge. I know there was no complaints about eating this for breakfast. You can sprinkle on shredded coconut, seeds, nuts, dried fruit for extra nutrients.
2. Healthy Frothy Hot Chocolate
I used my milk frother. Simply add 1 tablespoon of Chocolate Fangks to 250ml of Almond Milk or normal milk and set to froth. The mix will dissolve and create a great tasting healthy hot chocolate that you don’t mind them having before bedtime.
3. Refined Sugar Free Chocolate and Coconut Slice
I was super impressed with this creation. A bunch of healthy ingredients come together to create this slice that is perfect for lunchboxes, is gluten free, dairy free, nut free, egg free and refined sugar free. PERFECT!
INGREDIENTS
Chocolate Layer
1/3 Cup Chocolate Fangks
2 Cups Pitted Dates
2 Tbs Coconut Oil
2 Cups Desiccated Coconut
Coconut Layer
2 Cups Desiccated Coconut
2 Tbs Coconut Oil
2 Tbs Rice Malt Syrup
LETS PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
1. In a food processor or thermo style machine place the dates and process until broken down. Approx 30 seconds. Add the coconut, coconut oil and Chocolate Fangks. Process for a further 30-45 seconds until the mix just starts to come together. Press into a lined slice tray.
2. In a bowl place the coconut, coconut oil and rice malt syrup. Mix together to evenly distribute the ingredients and it comes together. Press on top of the chocolate layer. Place in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours before slicing.
Makes 16 large slices – 32 small.
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to two weeks (if it lasts that long).
